And How Was YOUR Afternoon?
Animal Control never showed. They never even called. Next step? Find out who my representative is on the County Council, write a letter (copying the Sheriff and Animal Control) detailing the behavior of this pit bull, and tell them that when this dog escapes again — and it WILL escape again — we’ll just hope that it’s not a kid that ends up getting mauled. Because THEN the county’s gonna have some serious explaining to do.
Got back from Physical Therapy. They really put me through the paces today. The first part was the best… laying on a mat for 15 minutes with a heat wrap on my left shoulder. Then the therapist gave the shoulder a real workout — deep tendon massage, range of motion, all that. Then we rode the bike for a few minutes, I did my “big boy walking” and some balance work.
God, my balance really sucks! And when I’m stretching out my stride while walking, I tend to freeze up a lot easier than when I’m doing my “safety shuffle.” The therapist showed me an easier way to break free from being frozen. And it works, too. On our way out to the car, I froze, did the trick she showed me, froze again on the next step, did the trick she showed me, froze again on the next step, then laughed at myself. Ah, Parkinson’s disease. Thou art truly a witch!
Gail rewarded me for my hard work with a trip to Coldstone Creamery.
Had a total of three calls from the hospital today. First a pre-admission, then from the actual technician who’s doing my swallow test. Then from someone telling me I had to be there by 8:30. Seems like a lot of rigamarole for a simple outpatient procedure.
Tomorrow, my dysphagia test — “Modified Barium Swallow” they call it. I’m told I can get a copy of the video. If that is true, you’ll see it on the blog tomorrow afternoon.
